Retirement of Rev'd Judith Cooper

In  thanks for the ministry of Rev'd Judith Cooper and with very best wishes for her retirement, here are some words of gratitude from the congregations of both churches in the benefice.

St Paul's

" We at St Paul's were all extremely sad when the time came for Rev'd Judith our Priest of 8 years to take her leave of us but we also felt that she and Terry could now embark on the next exciting step of their life together. Retirement will be very different but will hopefully allow them to spend more time with their family and to enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation; although knowing Rev'd Judith we are all aware that she will probably fill her days with many new projects and activities.

St Paul's parishoners and friends wanted Rev'd Judith to have a memonto of her time here and the wardens were able to present her, safely distanced, with a Rennie Macintosh mirror together with a Bents gift voucher from their contributions. It was a huge disappointment that we were not able to all be present for this but we did manage to get a photograph of the occasion. Hopefully we will all, inconjunction with St Peter's, be able to gather for an official farewell in the not too distant future. In the meantime our prayers and love and many, many thanks go with them both."

St Peter's

"During Rev'd Judith's ministry at St Peter's, initially as Priest in Charge and latterly as incumbent, we have valued her spiritual leadership, pastoral care, generous nature and diligent desire to preserve our beautiful grade 2* listed church. Husband Terry has been a stalwart support to Rev'd Judith and he has undertaken our Treasurers role, Magazine Editor, Sacristan and Building Maintenance trouble shooter!

Their freidnship, support and tenacity have been valued by St Peter's. In thanks a gift from the congregation was presented. Unfortunately due to pandemic regulations it was not possible to have the congregation present to celebrate in the way we'd have liked. We look forward to joining with St Paul's in the near future for an official farewell. We hope they have a very happy and healthy retirement.

Many thanks Judith and Terry. God bless.

Photographs of happy days.
